Application process
The City of Santa Clara is now requiring applicants to apply for available units through the Doorway portal. The site team at Sofia will work directly with them to complete their background screening. Housekeys will review for program eligibility. With that, applicants will need a MyHousekeys.com account to submit documents.
Applicants interested in applying for BMR units in Santa Clara will first need to access the listings on Doorway to enter the drawings. Use the link HERE to view active listings in Santa Clara.
Once Doorway has completed the ranking, the property will receive the ranked list and begin contacting applicants.
Applicants who pass the property tenant screening will then be submitted to HouseKeys for Underwriting and be given a deadline to submit files for review.
Applicants will need to create an account and upload the minimum required set of files by the deadline set by the houseKeys representative.
